Braised Beef Short Ribs
Beef Short Ribs made with Mae's Seasonings Rosemary Garlic. These are slow cooked in the oven. Great dinner in the fall and winter months.
Ingredients
- 4 short beef ribs, crosswise into pieces
- 1 tsp each: salt and pepper
- 2 tbsp Mae’s Seasonings Rosemary Garlic
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 head garlic, peeled and crushed
- 1 large onion, coarsely chopped
- 2 carrots, coarsely chopped
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 cups dry red wine
- 2 cups beef broth
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300 F.
- In a large bowl, mix together short ribs with salt, pepper, Rosemary Garlic and olive oil.
- In a large ovenproof pot, brown ribs on all sides until thoroughly browned; remove.
- Reduce heat to medium and add onion and garlic and cook for 2 minutes. Add carrot and celery and cook until carrot is softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add in tomato paste and red wine. Reduce the by half on medium - high heat. Add in beef stock. Return beef into the liquid, so that they are submerged.
- Cover with lid and transfer to oven for 3 hours, or until meat is very tender.
- Remove ribs to a serving platter and strain all liquid into a small pot. Bring to a simmer. Serve ribs with pan juices.
