Maple Bacon Yam Poutine
A Canadian Classic uniquely made. This yam poutine is made with Mae's Seasonings Maple Garlic.
Ingredients
- 2 yams
- 2 tbsp Mae’s Seasonings Maple Garlic
- 2 - 3 tbsp olive oil
- 6 strips bacon, diced
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 5 oz cheese curds
- 3 green onions, thinly sliced
Gravy:
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup flour
- 2 cups broth (chicken, beef or vegetarian)
- 1 tsp granulated onion
- 1 tsp granulated garlic
- 1 tsp kitchen bouquet browning sauce*
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 F. Cut yams lengthwise into French fries and toss with Maple Garlic and olive oil. Bake in preheated oven for 20 - 25 minutes.
- Gravy: In a medium saucepan on medium heat, melt butter then add in flour. Let cook for 1 - 2 minutes. Slowly add in broth until thickened. Add in garlic, onion and kitchen bouquet. Taste and adjust seasonings if needed.
- Bacon: In a large frypan over medium - high heat, add bacon and fry until crispy. Add maple syrup and cook just until syrup is cooked into the bacon, about 1 minute. Set aside.
- Assemble: On a large serving platter, place yam fries and top with cheese curds, gravy, bacon and green onions.
- *You can find kitchen bouquet in the spice aisle of your local grocery store.
