OMA’S FRIED CHICKEN is a great seasoning for fried chicken, roasted chicken, chicken schnitzel, breaded or roasted chicken breasts which can also be used in burgers. Also excellent in chicken fried steak. Just add some OMA’S FRIED CHICKEN SEASONING to your flour mix. Or if you prefer, you could add to your flour and breadcrumbs for more flavour of this perfectly spiced seasoning. This adds such incredible flavour to a roasted chicken as well. Just rub on your poultry and bake in the oven. You can also put some Fried Chicken Seasoning in some chicken or turkey broth then pour over your chicken and roast it in the oven. Just make sure to baste the poultry. OMA’S FRIED CHICKEN can also be used in the batter for onion rings and zucchini sticks. OMA’S FRIED CHICKEN was inspired by my German Grandmother. We used to have chicken a lot with a similar blend from chickens on her farm. I remember her making this as a child and loved her chicken, so I had to make a similar one for everyone to enjoy. Mae’s Seasonings is passionate about enhancing the flavor of your meals.

OILS FOR FRIED CHICKEN - choose one with a high smoke point. A few of the best ones are canola oil, peanut oil, coconut oil, and lard. Don’t use olive oil or butter.

SMOKED PAPRIKA is the base for OMA’S FRIED CHICKEN SEASONING. Smoked paprika adds incredible flavour thanks its smoky flavour. No other spices compare to this bold spice. It has a distinct smokiness, as it is dried by smoking, typically using oak wood. This bright red spice is also a great addition on top of potato salad, and devilled eggs.

SAGE is a member of the mint family, sage has a strong, earthy, slightly minty flavour that makes it the perfect addition to season poultry, sausage, stuffing, and root vegetables. Sage has grey green leaves with a somewhat furry exterior. The most common use for sage is in your holiday stuffing. Traditionally, its used to flavour sausages and fatty meats like goose and pork. A little goes a long way with this this strong spice. You can also make a stuffing for vegetarians by replacing the chicken stock for veggie stock and bake in the oven.

MUSTARD is a common ingredient in savoury dishes like spice blends, marinades, salad dressings and a ham glaze. Its made from ground mustard seeds. Ground mustard adds a sharp, hot, and tangy flavour.

BROWN SUGAR is a very common addition to rubs because its used as a natural tenderizer. The brown sugar also helps to caramelize the outside of the chicken which makes is very juicy and delicious.

SUGGESTED USAGE: For fried chicken, add 3 tbsp OMA’S FRIED CHICKEN SEASONING to 2 cups flour.
