
Roast Beef
Ingredients
- 3 - 4 pounds beef roast (prime rib, tenderloin or striploin)
- 6 garlic cloves
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp Mae’s Seasonings Steak Spice
- 3 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup red wine
- 1 onion, coarsely chopped
Instructions
- Rinse the beef and pat dry. On a large plate, place roast beef and place garlic cloves in wherever you can, making slits if necessary. Mix together Worcestershire, oil, Steak Spice, and rub thoroughly into meat. Wrap in plastic wrap and let sit in fridge for at least 8 hours.
- Before cooking, let sit out at room temperature for 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 275 F. Melt the butter and oil on medium - high heat in a cast iron skillet and sear the roast until browned on all sides. Transfer beef to a plate.
- In same pan, add beef broth and red wine to deglaze the pan. Put the beef back in the pan with some onion slices.
- Transfer to oven and cook for 1 1/2 - 2 hours or until your desired doneness.
- Let rest for 20 minutes before slicing
