Creamy Tomato Soup

Creamy Tomato Soup made with Mae's Tuscan Herb and Garlic. Pair with a grilled cheese sandwich if you like.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 tbsp butter, divided 
  • 2 onions, minced 
  • 4 - 6 garlic cloves, minced 
  • 1 tbsp Mae’s Seasonings Tuscan Herb & Garlic 
  • 2 cans (28 oz each) whole tomatoes 
  • 2 cups chicken or vegetarian broth 
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar 
  • 1 1/2 cups half and half cream 
  • 1/3 cup shredded parmesan cheese 
  • salt, to taste

Instructions
 

  • In a large pot on medium - high heat, sauté onions in 2 tbsp butter until lightly browned. Add in garlic and Tuscan Herb and cook for 1 minute.
  • Add in tomatoes, broth and brown sugar and stir to combine. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to low and let simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Using an immersion blender, blend the soup until your desired consistency. Return soup to stove and add in cream, 2 tbsp butter and parmesan.
  • Taste and adjust seasonings if needed.
