Smokehouse Burgers

Burgers made with Mae's Seasonings Smoked Hickory Rub. Pair with potato salad for a summer BBQ.

Ingredients
  

Burgers:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp granulated garlic
  • 1 tsp granulated onion
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 - 2 tbsp Mae’s Seasonings Hickory Smoked bbq Rub
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns

Suggested Toppings:

  • Bacon
  • Lettuce
  • Tomatoes
  • Onions
  • Pickles

Burger Sauce:

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/3 cup Mae’s Seasonings Honey Hickory BBQ Sauce
  • 1/4 cup red hamburger relish
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp Mae’s Seasonings Hickory Smoked BBQ Rub

Instructions
 

  • In a medium bowl, mix together all ingredients for the burger sauce and let sit in fridge.
  • In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, onion, paprika, egg yolk, and breadcrumbs. Form into 4 patties. Season patties with Hickory Rub on both sides.
  • Stove: In a cast iron skillet on medium - high, cook burgers for 3 - 5 minutes per side.
  • Grilling: Preheat your grill to medium - high and oil the grates. Cook burgers for 3 - 5 minutes per side.
  • Once burgers are cooked, place cheese on top and cook until melted. Let sit for 5 minutes before serving.
  • Spread burger sauce on both sides of hamburger buns and top with any suggested toppings.
