Au Gratin Potatoes

Au Gratin Potatoes made with Mae's Seasonings Cajun to give the potatoes some extra flavour. This goes perfect with a baked ham for Easter.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 - 6 potatoes, thinly sliced 
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced 
  • 1/4 cup butter 
  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour 
  • 1 tbsp Mae’s Seasonings Cajun Blackened 
  • 1 tsp salt 
  • 2 cups half and half cream 
  • 4 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided 

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 F. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Once melted add flour and cook for 1 - 2 minutes until very lightly browned. Stir in Cajun Blackened and salt; then slowly add in cream. Take off the heat and stir in 3 cups cheese.
  • In a 13 x 9 inch baking pan layer with half the potatoes, half the onions and half of the sauce. Then repeat layers and top with 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and            continue baking for 15 - 25 minutes or until golden brown and potatoes are tender.                                                
  • Let rest for 15 minutes before cutting.
