Cuisine French
- 1 1/2 pounds steak or stewing beef, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp Mae’s Seasonings Steak Spice
- 4 tbsp butter, divided
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 4 - 6 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 pound mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup red wine
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tbsp worcestershrie sauce
- 3 tbsp all purpose flour
- 3/4 cup sour cream
- Salt and pepper to season
- Egg noodles or mashed potatoes
In a large bowl, mix together beef and Steak Spice. Melt 2 tbsp butter in a large frypan over medium heat, sear the beef until cooked and browned. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
Melt the other 2 tbsp butter in same pan; add the onions and sauté until lightly browned. Add the garlic and sauté for 1 minute; add mushrooms and cook until they are tender, about 4 - 6 minutes. Then stir in wine and cook until reduced by half, about 5 minutes.
In a small bowl, whisk together the beef stock, Worcestershire sauce and flour until smooth. Pour into the pan and stir to combine and let simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in sour cream and the cooked steak until combined.
Taste and adjust seasonings if needed. Serve with egg noodles or mashed potatoes.
