Chicken marinated in buttermilk and Mae's Seasonings Oma's Fried Chicken. The buttermilk makes this very tender. Pair with a salad and potatoes for a full meal.
2 tbsp Mae’s Seasonings Oma Fried Chicken, divided
1 tsp dried oregano
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup cornstarch
canola oil
Instructions
Stir together salt, 1 tbsp Fried Chicken Seasoning, and oregano. Coat chicken with this mixture. Then coat with buttermilk and refrigerate overnight or at least 8 hours.
Preheat oven to 350 F. Stir together flour, cornstarch, 1 tbsp Fried Chicken Seasoning. Then remove chicken from buttermilk and dredge each piece in the flour. Shake off any excess flour.
Heat some oil in a cast iron skillet and cook chicken over medium - high heat until lightly browned, about 3 - 5 minutes per side. Then transfer to preheated oven and cook for 20 minutes, flip and cook for another 15 - 20 minutes or until cooked and juices run clear.
Let rest for 5 - 10 minutes before serving.
