Marinara Sauce

Marinara Sauce using Mae’s Tuscan Herb and Garlic. This can be used in a lot of Italian dishes like lasagne, spaghetti and meatballs and chicken parmesan to name a few ideas.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 onion diced
  • 6 garlic cloves minced
  • olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Mae's Seasonings Tuscan Herb and Garlic
  • 1 can 28 oz crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can 156 ml tomato paste
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp butter

Instructions
 

  • In a large saucepan on medium - high heat, sauté onions and garlic in some oil until lightly browned.
  • Stir in Mae’s Tuscan Herb and cook 1 minute. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, water, brown sugar and salt.
  • Simmer on low heat for a minimum of 30 minutes or up to 2 hours. Then stir in butter. Add more water if needed.
