Hickory Steak with Bacon Butter

Perfectly grilled steak rubbed with Mae's Seasonings Hickory Smoked BBQ Rub and finished with a rich, homemade bacon butter made with garlic, chives, and a touch of honey.

Ingredients:

Bacon Butter:                                           

  • 1/4 cup butter, softened              
  • 2 pieces bacon, diced                                 
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced                           
  • 2 tsp dried chives                                      
  • 1 tsp liquid honey  

 

Instructions:

  1. Bacon Butter: In a large frypan, cook bacon until crisp. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Let cool to room temperature. Using a handheld mixer, beat butter until very soft, about 3 minutes; add in bacon, garlic, chives and honey. Wrap in plastic wrap to form a small log and place in freezer until firm.
  2. Steaks: Rub steaks with oil then add Hickory Smoked BBQ Rub. Let sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before grilling. 
  3. Preheat your grill to high (450 F) Cook steaks for 3 - 5 minutes per side or until your desired doneness.
  4. Let rest for 5 - 10 minutes before serving.
