Salisbury Steak
Ingredients
- 1 onion, diced
- 6 garlic cloves, minced
- Olive oil
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp Mae’s Seasonings Steak Spice
Gravy:
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cups sliced mushrooms
- 3 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large frypan over medium heat, sauté onion and garlic in oil until lightly browned; set aside.
- In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, panko, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon, and Steak Spice. Once combined stir in onion / garlic mixture. Form into 4 or 5 oval patties.
- In same frypan over medium heat, sear patties 2 - 3 minutes per side until browned but not fully cooked; set aside.
- Gravy: Heat oil over medium heat, and saute onion until lightly browned; add in mushrooms and saute until mushrooms are browned. Stir in butter until melted; then add in flour and cook for 1 minute. Add in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce and cook until slightly thickened. Season with salt and pepper if desired.
- Add patties back in and cover. Cook until patties are cooked and no longer pink, about 10 - 15 minutes on medium - low heat.
- Serve over mashed potatoes.

SUGGESTED USAGE: Rub in olive oil then 1 – 2 tbsp per 1 lb of meat and let sit in refrigerator for at least 2 hours if time allows. But, let sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before you start cooking.
